"Snapshot of an Era" Exhibit
Starts:08:00 AM, November 28
End Date:08:00 AM, May 31
Location: SDSU Library
The SDSU Library is presenting "Snapshot of an Era: Uncovering our New Deal Past," a major exhibit exploring the genesis of the university campus and the development of San Diego during the New Deal, a foundational time in the history of San Diego and San Diego State University. The exhibit will be on display through May 2008 in Reference Services and the Donor Hall, as well as in Special Collections and University Archives.

Using archival photographs, institutional records, memorabilia and other primary resources, the exhibit highlights the impact of various New Deal programs on the physical campus environment and on student life during the 1930s, including the Works Progress Administration, the National Youth Administration and the Federal Emergency Relief Administration. The exhibit is in conjunction with the upcoming installation in the library of the restored Depression-era mural “NRA Packages.”
